DescriptionThe Hurley Family Branch in North Attleboro, MA is hiring Personal Trainers.
The Personal Trainer initiates engagement with members in the Wellness Center to support them in their wellness journeys.
Personal trainers are responsible for educating clients and enforcing policies regarding safe and proper use of equipment.
This position develops, documents, and implements one-on-one, partner, or group workout programs that match the needs and goals of clients.
Personal Trainers must be able to instruct clients on basic exercise physiology and inform them of proper lifting and exercise techniques.
Essential Functions Identifies and supports health seekers in the Wellness Center, connecting them in meaningful ways with other staff and members to help develop and deepen relationships Creates a welcoming, non-threatening, and educational environment in the Wellness Center Is a positive role model to members, identifying and striving towards personal health and wellness goals Stays current with industry-related technology and health and wellness trends Demonstrates a professional and genuine interest in, and dedication to, the health and wellness of others Respects the individual goals, needs, and perspectives of each member Knows and abides by YMCA policies and procedures, including accident and incident reports and the code of conduct (i.

does not prescribe anything to any member, including but not limited to, nutritional vitamins and supplements) Helps to maintain equipment Demonstrates support for the YMCA Reach out for Youth (ROFY) through member awareness, recruiting volunteers, and participating in events Works as a team player, supporting colleagues and the mission of the YMCA in the community Works to ensure a neat, clean, and organized Wellness Center, including all workout areas, paperwork, towels, and cleaning supplies Is on time and dressed in proper staff attire for every shift Secures coverage when unable to work scheduled shifts and covers shifts for others when able, communicating shift changes to Health & Wellness Director as soon as possible Attends all staff meetings and training opportunities Ensures the member/client has paid for sessions by presenting a receipt for the correct numbers of sessions Clocks in and out for personal trainer shift and VAC scans each client hour to match payroll Maintains appropriate professional boundaries at all times Requirements Current national certification (ACSM; ACE; NSCA; ISSA and/or AFAA) or a 4 year degree in a health related field (proof of completion of certification or relative degree must be submitted within 90 days of hire) Demonstrated understanding of the core values of the Hockomock YMCA (honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility) Movement and situational awareness Understanding of cardio and strength equipment training principles and an ability to successfully guide participants through an equipment orientation Able to comfortably and effectively initiate engagement with the members to promote the personal training program Courteous, friendly, and personable demeanor Educated in current industry standards Strong organizational and communication skills Certifications should include, but not be limited to CPR & First Aid Recommended Skills Cpr Communication Conflict Management First Aid And Preparedness Friendliness Interpersonal Skills Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
